TPPF statement on tax cuts in the 84th Legislature

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is tremendously encouraged by the movement toward significant tax cuts in both houses of the 84th Texas Legislature. Though the work on these cuts is not yet finished — nor will it be until the full work of the legislature is done — we nevertheless believe that they are, as presently conceived, based upon eminently sound and sensible principles of conservative governance.

Economic Development Transparency Coalition pushes for openness in government

Six policy and grassroots organizations from the left, right, and center have coalesced to form the Economic Development Transparency Coalition, and are signatories on a letter urging the Texas Legislature to increase transparency in government by repealing existing exceptions to transparency laws for economic development located in sections 551.087 and 552.131 of the Government Code.

Derek Cohen to testify on civil asset forfeiture
