Texas Public Policy Foundation General Counsel and Director of the Center for the American Future Robert Henneke is available today to discuss Pulliam, et. al. v. City of Austin, et. al., a lawsuit filed by the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) and Goldwater Institute challenging the City of Austin’s labor agreement with Austin Firefighters Association, Local 975. The Travis County District Court will hold a hearing on the case today at 2:00 PM CST.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) today released the videos of the keynote addresses from the 15th Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature. This year’s sold-out event took place January 11-13 at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol, and featured keynote speeches by Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Emmy-award winning journalist John Stossel, Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett, former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm, and U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.

Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) unveiled a new mobile app: Texas Legislator’s Guide to the Issues. The app, available on Android and Apple devices, allows mobile device users to quickly identify key issues impacting state lawmakers. The app is identical to the 2017-2018 Legislator’s Guide to the Issues, a publication that was printed and distributed in September of 2016, and outlines TPPF’s guide to the various public policy issues in Texas.

TPPF Statement on Fitch Ratings Downgrade Threat to Dallas Police & Fire Pension Systems

The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s (TPPF) Center for Local Governance Director James Quintero today issued the following comments in response to yesterday’s statement by Fitch Ratings regarding the Dallas Police and Fire Pension.  Quintero emphasized that unless meaningful pension reform legislation is passed in the 85th Texas Legislative Session, a “multi-notch downgrade” of the City of Dallas’ rating may occur.
