The Texas Public Policy Foundation commends Governor Greg Abbott for designating election integrity as an emergency item and working to ensure all Texan’s voices are protected and trust is restored in our election system.
TPPF’s Executive Director Kevin Roberts gave the following statement:
“The 2020 election highlighted several areas in which the administration of our elections can be improved. Texans deserve a process that is transparent, secure, and efficient. We are encouraged by the Governor’s commitment to pursue best practices to combat voter fraud and protect legitimate votes.”
TPPF’s Vice President of National Initiatives Chuck DeVore added:
“In Texas, poorly maintained voter lists may include more than 100,000 non-citizens, deceased voters, and people who have moved out of state. Failure to address ineligible voters disenfranchises all Texans and we applaud the Governor prioritizing reforms that restore trust in our system.”
