AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s 11th Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature formally starts two days of debate and panel discussions with a live broadcast of the nationally syndicated radio show, “Bill Bennett’s Morning in America,” from 5:00 to 8:00 a.m. Central time on Thursday, January 10 at the Hilton Austin Hotel.

“We are beyond pleased that Dr. Bennett can be with us to launch our annual event which has come to be known as one of the premier policy events in the nation,” said Foundation President and CEO Brooke Rollins. “Dr. Bennett’s nationally syndicated program provides an excellent platform to discuss the issues encroaching on the liberties of the citizens of the Lone Star State and the nation.”

Bennett is one of America’s most important, influential, and respected voices on cultural, political, and education issues. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Bennett received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the Washington Fellow of the Claremont Institute, a contributor for the CNN cable news channel, and the chairman of Americans for Victory over Terrorism. He is the author of 16 books, including the best-selling “The Book of Virtues: A Treasury of Great Moral Stories” and his latest, “The Book of Man.”

The Foundation’s annual event, Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature, brings together lawmakers, policy experts, and citizens from across the political spectrum to discuss the most critical issues facing the state.
