The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s CEO Greg Sindelar released the following statement responding to the Governor’s announcement on an agreement on a House school choice bill:
“We welcome the news that Governor Abbott and Speaker Phelan have reached an agreement on school choice, as well as the Governor’s decision to expand the call. The limited details of the plan the Governor released in his statement to create an Education Savings Account program look promising and we look forward to working with the House to ensure Texas puts parents first. With time running short, it is imperative the legislature come back to work and focus on getting the policy right to support parents, students and teachers throughout our education system.”
