AUSTIN — Building on the momentum from a record-setting launch day on February 4, families have now submitted more than 100,000 applications for Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFAs). Accepted applicants will receive funding for education-related expenses such as tuition, textbooks, and tutoring.

“For too long, Texas families were forced to accept a one-size-fits-all system that doesn’t meet every child’s unique needs. This milestone is more proof that parents across our state are ready for more options and more control over their children’s education,” said TPPF Senior Fellow Mandy Drogin. “We’re proud to see this vision becoming a reality, and we’re just getting started.”

All eligible families still have over a month to apply before the March 17 deadline at EducationFreedom.Texas.Gov. Applications are not processed on a “first come, first served” basis. Families will be notified of funding status beginning in early April.
