David Dunmoyer addresses four parts that pose a threat to kids’ online gaming safety. First, online games do not require verifiable affirmative parental consent at the account creation process for that child. Second, building oversight tools are weak, buried, and narrow to provide a false security blanket for parents. Third, harvesting every data point and making the product as compulsive as engineering allows. Fourth, when a child is harmed, they’ll deny responsibility, citing Section 230 exempts them from any liability.
