Austin’s costly light rail system is once again mired in controversy. A new lawsuit alleges that Project Connect will cost more and deliver less than what was promised to voters in 2020, constituting something of a ‘bait-and-switch.’ If a court agrees that city officials did indeed misled voters, then it may also halt the property tax funding it, which would effectively derail the project altogether.

Join TPPF Executive Director and General Counsel Rob Henneke, lead attorney Bill Aleshire, and TPPF policy director James Quintero as they discuss the lawsuit against the city of Austin, the unilateral changes that prompted it, and what may happen if it is successful.

This event is online-only via livestream.
