Join the Texas Public Policy Foundation for a conversation with author Kurt Schlichter about his latest novel, American Warlord, alongside TPPF Chief National Initiatives Officer Chuck DeVore.

In American Warlord, a deadly new virus wipes out 80% of the population, leaving the United States in ruins and its surviving citizens struggling to restore order. As government institutions collapse and lawlessness spreads, Vic Kinkaid, an ordinary trucking manager with a passion for Roman history, finds himself in an unlikely position of leadership. Faced with violent raiders, desperate communities, and the breakdown of modern society, Vic must find a way to rebuild civilization from the ground up as a new American warlord.

Drawing on their shared experience serving in the National Guard during the 1992 Los Angeles riots, Schlichter and DeVore will discuss the novel’s portrayal of societal collapse, the fragility of the institutions Americans take for granted, and the role of ordinary citizens in restoring order during extraordinary circumstances.

Attend in person or tune in via livestream for a conversation about American Warlord and the challenges of rebuilding a nation when the familiar foundations of society disappear. A complimentary reception and book signing will be available for in-person attendees.
