The 116th Congress has filed a new “Medicare for All” bill to fix healthcare. However, their aim is not to fix the care, but the system that finances that care – a system in which Congress itself has been complicit in breaking. Meanwhile, the world’s leading medical journals report the U.S. has superior care, including care for cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Even for the lowest-priority care, U.S. wait times are far shorter than for seriously ill patients in peer countries like Canada and the U.K.
