The fight to draft and ratify the Constitution was difficult—it almost failed. What if it did? That’s the tale TPPF’s Chuck DeVore spins in his newest book, “Crisis of the House Never United.”
Join the Ft. Worth Liberty Leadership Council* as we explore the American experiment: a time of maximum danger and heated passions when men were not yet sure as to whether ballots or bullets would decide the fates of governments. And how do these ideas – both real and imagined – impact us today? With the idea of a “national divorce” on the line, the complaints that threaten to escalate into unrest are a symptom of a deeper problem, namely, that our Constitutional order appears to be breaking down. Rather than a federal system with strong checks and balances, power has been increasingly centralized in Washington, D.C. with much of that power held by the administrative state—a sprawling professional bureaucracy.
Yet our Constitution is the world’s best—should we choose to follow it. And it almost didn’t happen.
DeVore will be signing copies of his novel, $25 for hardcover and $15 for paperback (cash or card), with the proceeds going to TPPF as a donation. You may also purchase a copy on Amazon here.
“Crisis” has received a favorable reception:
“The reader can tell that DeVore did his homework” —Daily Caller
“Burr (a satisfyingly well-developed character…)” —The Federalist
“This book works as an object lesson in the functionality and genius of our Constitution” —The Daily Signal
RSVP is required to attend. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be served.
