Local Texas governments spent as much as $41 million to influence state lawmakers by hiring lobbyists, according to reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission in 2017, meaning your tax money was used to fight for higher taxes and more powerful government.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation, as well as numerous lawmakers, have vowed to take on the issue of taxpayer funded lobbying in the next legislative session. Join the Austin LLC* and The Hon. Chuck DeVore for a conversation about what this fight will look like as we aim to restore the rights of the taxpayer.

Following the conversation, we will have some fun axe-throwing time, along with drinks and snacks. Axe throwing is an optional activity and all are welcome to just hang out and watch, if you prefer. Ticketing options are as follows. For questions, please email [email protected].

7:30 – 8:30: Axe Throwing (drinks and snacks served)
