AUSTIN – Today, Dr. Vance Ginn, economist with the Center for Fiscal Policy at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, will testify before the House Appropriations Committee, specifically on HJR 1 and HB 208 relating to the state’s limitation on the rate of growth of appropriations.

“Although Texas has done better economically and fiscally than most states during much of the last two decades, the state’s weak appropriations limit is a problem that needs improvement to consistently restrain excessive government appropriations," said Dr. Ginn. "Texas needs to adopt a conservative spending limit that will help limit growth in government and allow Texans more opportunities to improve their well-being.”
