AUSTIN – Tomorrow, Dr. Tom Lindsay, the director of the Center for Higher Education at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, will testify before the Texas Senate Committee on State Affairs, which is holding a special hearing on campus free speech at Texas State University.
 
“The Senate State Affairs Committee hearing on protecting free speech on campus is not occurring in a vacuum,” said Lindsay. “Of late, a number of universities and state legislatures across the country are addressing this challenge. They are coming together out of the shared conviction that abuse of the First Amendment rights guaranteed to students and faculty violates not only the constitution but also the very reason for being of universities.”
