AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) will host a media conference call briefing on Wednesday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. CDT to discuss the state of the Obamacare repeal. Last week, TPPF sent a letter to the Texas Congressional Delegation outlining key principles for renewing American healthcare: Repeal and Respect. The principles are centered on the full repeal of Obamacare and restoring the Constitutional role of the states in regulating healthcare.

Chip Roy, Director of the Center for the Tenth Amendment Action at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Mr. Roy has served in a number of key leadership positions for Texas elected officials, including most recently as the First Assistant Attorney General of Texas. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and as a senior advisor to Texas Governor Rick Perry – including as director of State-Federal Relations for the State of Texas. He is also a past Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Texas and formerly served Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) as staff director of his leadership office and senior counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Chris Jacobs, Senior Health Care Policy Analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Chris Jacobs previously worked as Policy Director for America Next, a new start-up think tank, and as a Senior Policy Analyst for the Heritage Foundation and the Joint Economic Committee's Senate Republican staff. Before that, Chris worked as a Policy Advisor for the House Republican Conference under Chairman Mike Pence during the debate surrounding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and as a Health Policy Analyst for the Senate Republican Policy Committee during the first two years of the law's implementation.

 Dr. Deane Waldman, M.D. M.B.A., Director of the Center for Health Care Policy at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Dr. Deane Waldman is a retired pediatric cardiologist and system theorist analyst for American healthcare. He has 37 years of clinical experience plus the business and administrative experience as Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at University of Chicago. He is also the Consumer Advocate member on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange.
