AUSTIN— Today, Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Senior Education Policy Advisor Kara Belew will provide invited testimony before the House Committee on Public Education.

“Pouring billions of dollars into a broken system is not a responsible use of taxpayer dollars nor will it improve student results,” said Belew. “To improve student outcomes, school boards and districts need to set public and measurable reading and math goals, increase compensation of effective principals and teachers through merit pay programs and adopt other innovative programs.”
