AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Director of the Center for the American Future, Robert Henneke, issued the following statement on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas ruling reversing the listing of the lesser prairie chicken as threatened under the Endangered Species Act:
“The court’s decision is a victory for private property rights and the American system of federalism and rule of law. The federal government tried to list a species as threatened after the states and private property owners had adequately provided for its protection. That is foul play.”
