AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) will host a policy primer titled, “Do Tax and Expenditure Limits Matter?” TODAY, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:30 am CDT in the Joe B. Hogsett Theater at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
The 84th Texas Legislature held the growth of the total budget to less than the increase in population growth plus inflation. This conservative budget met the needs of the state and supports economic prosperity. Is now the time to reform the state’s spending limit to better match the needs of Texans? How does our spending limit compare with other states and countries? Panelists will discuss these questions and more about the costs and benefits of the state’s spending limit.
