AUSTIN – Texas Public Policy Foundation’s James Quintero, director of the Center for Local Governance, testified before the Senate Committee on Education in support of Senate Bill 1605, a bill to improve school district financial transparency and accountability.

“School district spending continues to grow rapidly, raising serious concerns about the trajectory of debt and taxes,” said Quintero. “To help make sure school districts are stretching every tax dollar, Texans need more information and better tools at their fingertips to hold local officials accountable.”
