AUSTIN – Today, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released state-level labor market data for Texas in November 2017. The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s senior economist and director of the Center for Economic Prosperity, Dr. Vance Ginn issued the following statement:
“Texans have a lot to celebrate this holiday season as our unemployment rate is down to a record low of just 3.8 percent,” said Dr. Ginn. “This makes more than 40 straight months with a statewide unemployment rate below 5 percent and shows that the Texas model of limited government and low taxation continues to promote prosperity in the state.”
