AUSTIN – Marc Levin, Director of the Center for Effective Justice at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, will testify before the Texas House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Room E2.010 of the Texas State Capitol. The Committee will meet to study the potential issues involving civil liability for interacting with ex-offenders. Levin will discuss the impact of the hiring immunity bill that the Foundation helped to develop and enact during Texas’ 83rd Legislative Session, as well as a bill for the upcoming session that will provide similar relief for landlords who rent to ex-offenders.
