AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Local Governance Policy Analyst Allegra Hill will speak on ending forced annexation at the Cypress Coalition’s Town Hall Meeting, TODAY, Monday, January 18th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 8905, 21902 Northwest Fwy, Cypress, TX 77429.
“Current law allows cities to force property owners in the surrounding communities to become subject to city taxes and regulations without a vote of any kind,” said Allegra Hill, policy analyst with the Center for Local Governance at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “Forcibly annexing people without their consent is undemocratic and un-Texan.”
