AUSTIN— Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation announced Brian Blase as senior fellow for Right on Healthcare.

“Brian is a key influencer on American health policy and reform. He has a broad range of knowledge and we are fortunate to have Brian join our Right on Healthcare Initiative,” said Kevin Roberts, executive director at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

Prior to joining TPPF, Blase served as a special assistant on the President’s White House Economic Council for economic policy since 2017.

“Brian has established himself as a leading healthcare expert and served on the President’s White House Economic Council where he largely coordinated health policy,” said David Balat, director of Right on Healthcare at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “He has been on the frontlines in the effort to empower consumers by expanding choice, and we believe he is the right fit to help TPPF deliver solutions at both the state and federal level pertaining to our healthcare industry.”

Brian served as a senior research fellow with the Spending and Budget Initiative at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University from 2015-2017, a health policy analyst with the Senate Republican Policy Committee from 2014-2015, a senior professional staff member with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform from 2011-2014, and a health policy analyst with the Heritage Foundation from 2010-2011. Blase holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and mathematics from Penn State and a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University.
