AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation issued this statement on the Texas Senate’s passage of House Bill 213, a bill to permanently extend the $1 million small-business tax exemption:

“By making this small-business tax exemption permanent, Texas lawmakers have given tax relief and tax certainty to small businesses and entrepreneurs across Texas,” said James Quintero, TPPF’s Center for Fiscal Policy Senior Policy Analyst. “This bill helps remove the guesswork from the Texas margin tax and gives our small-business community the ability to more adequately plan for the future.”

Quintero continued, “This favorable move will allow Texas small businesses to shift their focus from the Tax Code to what they do best – being entrepreneurs, growing their businesses, and creating jobs.”

James Quintero is senior policy analyst for the Center for Fiscal Policy with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a non-profit, free-market research institute based in Austin.
