AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation commends the Trump Administration’s executive order creating a new position focused on combating human trafficking. The new role will be housed under the White House domestic policy office.

“We commend and thank the President for his leadership in combatting those who profit in this interstate and international trade of human suffering,” said John Hostettler, vice president of federal affairs for States Trust, an initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “This new post will bring much needed attention to the scourge of human trafficking so that one day we may look back on this newest slave trade within the US as another dark – and closed – chapter in our history.”

Hostettler and the TPPF-spearheaded Border Security Coalition have been active voices on the ties between border security and the prevention of human trafficking.
