TPPF Celebrates Passage of HJR 98, the Article V Convention of States Resolution

AUSTIN- Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation applauds the passage of House Joint Resolution 98, which submits an application with no expiration to the Congress of the United States to call a convention under Article V of the Constitution.

“TPPF is grateful for the leadership of Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and Speaker Dustin Burrows for passage of HJR 98,” said Jose Melendez, campaign director for TPPF’s Taxpayer Protection Project. “It is necessary that we use the power granted to us under the U.S. Constitution to rein in a federal government that has grown beyond the bounds that were originally envisioned by the framers.
