AUSTIN — Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation congratulates Tom Homan, who President-Elect Donald Trump announced will serve as the nation’s “border czar” in the incoming administration. Homan’s appointment comes in the wake of four years of chaos at America’s borders, during which record numbers of unvetted illegal aliens entered the country. TPPF stands firmly behind the next administration’s efforts to disrupt the flow of human trafficking, combat the drug epidemic, and dismantle the violent cartels fueling it all.
Tom Homan is a member of TPPF’s Border Security Coalition, which emphasizes that we must secure the southern border and U.S. ports of entry before other changes to U.S. immigration law can be made.
“Texas has long borne the brunt of cartel-driven violence, addiction, and chaos,” said TPPF CEO Greg Sindelar. “Tom Homan has a distinguished record and correctly recognizes the threat posed by the cartels. As our Foundation continues to advance Texas-centered solutions, we stand prepared to work with Tom to combat cartel influence and restore safety to American communities.”
Former U.S. Border Chief and TPPF Senior Fellow Rodney Scott added, “Tom Homan is an awesome pick. This is a huge step toward securing our nation again. ‘America First’ is back!”
