Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation applauds Lt. Gov. Patrick for making Senate Bill 625 by Sen. Donna Campbell a priority legislative item for the Senate. By elevating Senate Bill 625 to Senate Bill 14, Lt. Gov. Patrick and Sen. Campbell continue to demonstrate their commitment to protecting children from unproven, irreversible, and dangerous sex reassignment medical interventions.

“Senate Bill 14 is an effective and compassionate approach to protecting children struggling with gender dysphoria and their families from experimental and potentially harmful medical procedures,” said Andrew Brown, associate vice president of policy for TPPF. “These vulnerable children and their families should be pointed toward resources that will actually help instead of risky false promises. We applaud Sen. Campbell for filing this legislation, and Lt. Gov. Patrick for making it one of his top priorities for session.”
