AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will host a policy primer on forced annexation, titled, “The Great Texas Land Grab” TOMORROW, Thursday, August 27, at 11:30 a.m. in the Red McCombs Event Center at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

“Forced annexation threatens the liberty of Texans everywhere as it allows cities to annex property owners without their consent, taking away an individual’s right to decide where they live and what kind of community they want to be a part of,” said TPPF Center for Local Governance Director James Quintero. “Significant strides were made during the 84th Legislative Session to remedy the problem of forced annexation, but legislative efforts ultimately fell short, leaving much work to be done in the interim to see that next session Texans are made secure in their persons and property.”
