AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will host an event with Americans for Prosperity titled “Switch Off Washington” TODAY, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in the Joe B. Hogsett Theater at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

The event will explore how the new regulations mandated by the Clean Power Plan (CPP) will impact Texas and the economy. The recently finalized Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants across the United States will force Texas to cut 32 percent of its carbon emissions by 2030 — affecting jobs, electricity affordability and reliability, and the overall health of our economy for a difference of 0.02 degrees Celsius. The rule also involves massive and controversial uses of federal power, regulating activities never before considered under the EPA’s authority.
