AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will host an event titled, “The EPA’s Clean Power Plan: In Washington We Trust?” on Thursday, August 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Building in Houston, Texas.
 
The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s energy policy experts will analyze the EPA's proposed plan and discuss solutions that ensure state autonomy while maintaining affordable electricity for all Americans.
 
The EPA’s proposed “Clean Power Plan,” which seeks to regulate carbon dioxide emissions by forcing the closure of coal-fired electric generating units, would ultimately decrease global temperatures by only 0.02ºC, and cost hundreds of billions of dollars. In exchange for the thinnest of prospective environmental gains, the EPA proposes to effectively take over the electric power generating system in every state, forcing the shutdown of plants, the firing of thousands of hardworking Americans, and raising the cost of electricity for every business and family. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
