AUSTIN— Today, the Texas Workforce Commission released labor market data for Texas in January 2019.

Vance Ginn, Ph.D., senior economist and director of the Center for Economic Prosperity at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, issued the following statement:

“Texas continues to be the beacon of job creation to support greater prosperity for Texans across the state. Private sector employers added more than 10,000 nonfarm jobs last month for a total of more than 273,000 jobs added in the last year. The unemployment rate remains near a record low at 3.8 percent. By improving the Texas Model of limited government this session, legislators can keep this historic streak going.”
