DALLAS, TX – The Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas is set to hear oral arguments on Highland Park ISD’s refusal to share the results of an investigative report conducted by a public accounting firm.

Between 2020 and 2021, HPISD’s Seay Tennis Center experienced a sudden jump in revenue of over one million dollars, likely due to employees running the tennis center prior to 2021 pocketing money off of customers. In response to public pressure, HPISD asked third-party accounting firm Whitely Penn to investigate how much money was directed away from HPISD through this nefarious activity, but never released the findings.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation sued HPISD in 2023 under the Texas Public Information Act to force HPISD to disclose the report.

When: Wednesday, May 14th at 2:00pm CT

Where: Texas Fifth Court of Appeals, George L. Allen, Sr. Courts Bldg., 600 Commerce Street, Suite 200, Dallas, Texas 75202
