AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation is pleased to announce that Lt. Governor-Elect Dan Patrick and world-renowned economist Dr. Arthur Laffer will be featured in an exclusive discussion on the merits of public education reform in Texas. A Conversation on the Economics of Education Opportunity will take place on the first day of the 13th Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature, Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at 4:30 pm CST in the Ballroom at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol.

“We are honored to welcome Lt. Governor-Elect Patrick and Dr. Laffer to Policy Orientation 2015,” said Brooke Rollins, President & CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “This discussion between a leader who has long championed education freedom for children across Texas and an economist whose recent work unearths the connection between school choice and economic growth will be a game-changer in the debate over school choice in Texas and across the nation.”

For thirteen years, the Foundation’s Policy Orientation has been one of the nation’s top policy conferences, selling out each year while bringing together lawmakers, policy experts, and engaged citizens from across the political spectrum to discuss critical issues facing the Lone Star State and America. Last year’s Policy Orientation attracted approximately 700 attendees including nearly 100 state legislators and hundreds of legislative staff from both sides of the aisle.

This year’s program includes 35 panel discussions and debates on the major issues affecting Texas’ future. Members of the public and media who wish to attend may register and view the agenda at: www.PolicyOrientation.com
