AUSTIN – Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) Vice President for Policy Chuck DeVore will deliver invited testimony before the Kansas State Senate Local Government Committee TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 10, at 10:00 a.m. CDT via Skype to the Kansas State Capitol Room 159-S. Mr. DeVore will testify on the issue of taxpayer-paid lobbyists.

“As in Texas, local governments in Kansas and much of the rest of the nation spend millions of taxpayer dollars every year trying to convince state governments to give them more taxpayer money,” said DeVore. “This doesn’t seem right—especially when voters already send representatives to the state capital to represent their interests. Local governments’ use of taxpayer dollars to lobby for higher taxes, greater spending and more regulatory power is akin to taking taxpayer dollars to take more taxpayer dollars.”
