AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation announced today the selection of David Guenthner as its new Director of Media and Government Relations. Starting January 2, 2007, Guenthner will coordinate the Foundation’s outreach efforts to the news media, Texas Legislature, and state government.

Guenthner is best known around the Capitol for the six years he served as managing editor of The Lone Star Report, a prominent newsletter on Texas state government and politics. He joins TPPF following a two-year stint in the Governmental Relations department at the Texas Workforce Commission.

“We are thrilled to be able to add someone of David’s caliber to our team,” said the Foundation’s president, Brooke Rollins. “His broad experience, professional accomplishments, and demonstrated commitment to conservative principles make him a perfect fit for this position.”

“The Texas Public Policy Foundation is a group that I have respected for many years,” Guenthner said. “I am honored to have the opportunity to work with people who are not only capable professionals but also allies and friends. I am excited to think of how our collaboration will be able to promote freedom in Texas.”

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan research institute based in Austin, Texas. The Foundation’s work is available online at www.TexasPolicy.com.
