AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will host the 3rd Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature on January 26 and 27, 2005.

The event, which has been sold-out and drawn standing-room-only crowds in previous years, will feature keynote addresses by Governor Rick Perry, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst and House Speaker Tom Craddick. The event will be kicked off with an address by Texas Education Commissioner Shirley Neeley.

As in previous years, the Policy Orientation will cover a broad range of issues and include panelists representing multiple points of view.

This year’s panel topics include: school finance, education reform, health care, Medicaid reform, transportation, water policy, tort reform, homeowners’ insurance, and telecommunications.

Registration forms for the public and lawmakers, as well as a complete agenda, is available online www.TexasPolicy.com.
