Texas is a great place to start and grow a business. Just ask any of the 57 Fortune 500 companies headquartered here today. But that’s not to say Texas’ policy environment is perfect, especially when it comes to taxes. One particularly thorny issue is the state’s business franchise tax, which is imposed upon certain LLC’s, corporations, and partnership for the privilege of doing business in the Lone Star State. Now, for those companies that get caught in its crosshairs, the tax can be complicated, costly, and timeconsuming to work through.
