National studies show that in the early ‘60s, 15 percent of all college grades nationwide were A’s. But today, an A is the most common grade given in college (43%); 73 percent of all grades awarded today are either A’s or B’s. Some argue that grade inflation is a cancer, eating away at the essence of our learning institutions. Do these deleterious effects extend also to the workforce preparedness of today’s college graduates?
