Wednesday’s hearing of the United States House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee reveals that net neutrality rules will have a detrimental impact to job creation and economic growth. As you can see in this video from the hearing, Congressman Shimkus’ questioning of Commissioner Baker reveals that the FCC did not even do a cost/benefit or market analysis prior to adopting its net neutrality rules. If the FCC had done a cost/benefit analysis, they would have discovered that creating regulatory uncertainty does not correlate to increased jobs. Fortunately, this hearing was followed by a House amendment to block funds for net neutrality.
