The EPA’s proposed “Clean Power Plan” rule seeks to regulate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from existing sources by forcing the closure of coal-fired electric generating units and increasing reliance on renewables and natural gas. The agency says the rule would decrease global temperatures by only 0.02ºC, and admits it will cost hundreds of billions of dollars.

In exchange for the thinnest of prospective environmental gains, the EPA proposes to effectively take over the electric power generating system in every state, forcing the shutdown of plants, the firing of thousands of hardworking Americans, and raising the cost to every business and family who rely on electricity.

A new poll to be released by the Texas Public Policy Foundation shows Texans overwhelmingly trust Texas state government to do a better job than Washington, D.C., in protecting the environment. The poll further reveals that Texans overwhelmingly oppose the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) unconstitutional Clean Power Plan (CPP).
