The Obama administration recently finalized the latest in its ideology-driven attack on traditional energy production — a new EPA rule to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants across the United States. With this action he is fulfilling his promise to work around Congress and deliver cap and trade — to make energy prices “necessarily skyrocket” — whether the public wants it or not.

This rule will force Texas to cut 32 percent of its carbon emissions by 2030 — threatening jobs, electricity affordability and reliability, and the overall health of our economy for a difference of just 0.02 degrees Celsius. President Obama’s carbon rule, the so-called "Clean Power Plan," will involve massive and controversial uses of federal power, regulating activities never before considered under the EPA’s authority. This is a national energy tax that Texas families and businesses can’t afford.

Join the Texas Public Policy Foundation and Americans for Prosperity as we explore how these new regulations will impact Texas and our economy, and learn how you can make a difference in stopping this federal overreach.
