Transparency and accountability are two key components of good governance. Sometimes Texas state agencies get this right, sometimes there is room for improvement. This panel will discuss these issues in the context of four different agencies: the Texas General Land Office, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Racing Commission, and the Legislative Budget Board. Specific topics will include contracting, budgeting, streamlining, and legislative oversight.
