Scruton, one of the world’s leading conservative thinkers, is a visiting professor at Oxford and St. Andrews universities and a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington. He is the author of over thirty books, including The Uses of Pessimism, A Political Philosophy: Arguments for Conservatism, Culture Counts: Faith and Feeling in a World Besieged, and An Intelligent Person’s Guide to Philosophy. The lecture is sponsored by UT Philosophy department, in connection with Prof. Rob Koons’s new course on conservative philosophy.
