Help Dismantle Mexico’s Violent Cartel Network

The alliance between the Mexican state and deadly cartels is at the root of America’s border security crisis. Nobody is entering our country illegally without paying the cartels, one way or another. These violent trafficking organizations directly attack American sovereignty and citizenry with illegal mass migration, deadly fentanyl, and more. Mexico’s ruling party even plants sleeper cells on U.S. soil to carry out operations.

Fortunately, America is starting to fight back.

President Trump has Mexico on the ropes. The Trump Administration has correctly identified multiple Latin American cartel groups as foreign terrorist organizations, and recognizes their “intolerable alliance” with the Mexican government. Now, the ball is in their court: Mexican officials must restore national sovereignty by cutting ties with the cartels… or risk U.S. intervention.

Since 2019, the Texas Public Policy Foundation has consistently argued that Mexico’s leftist MORENA regime is an untrustworthy partner to the United States, and a dangerous neighbor to Texas. We have also shined a light on the political-criminal alliance at the core of Mexican civics that profits from trafficking operations.

  • Publish research detailing the Mexican political elites’ collusion with the cartels
  • Push back against the Mexican government’s anti-American propaganda
