Join the Come and Take It Society Today!

On October 2, 1835, Texians at Gonzales refused to surrender the cannon entrusted to their town.

They raised a flag bearing a cannon and the words:

“COME AND TAKE IT.”

That stand helped begin the Texas Revolution. Five months later, Texians declared independence, and on April 21, 1836, the Texian army prevailed at San Jacinto.

Nearly two centuries later, the issues are different—but the need for Texans willing to stay engaged in consequential public-policy debates remains.

One of those issues today is election administration.

TPPF’s Election Protection Project is working on policies related to ballot security, election transparency, citizenship safeguards, oversight, and public confidence in the voting process. TPPF’s 2024 work significantly impacted the election results.
