√ I agree with Ronald Reagan that freedom is always only one generation from extinction.

√ I believe that the central struggle of our time—including in 2023—is the conflict between freedom and authoritarianism that would abolish freedom.

√ I believe we are slipping, even racing, toward “soft tyranny” in the form of government overreach, control, indoctrination, left-wing influence over corporations, higher taxes, abuse of the justice system, and more.

√ I believe saving freedom in Texas is essential to saving freedom in America. If freedom survives in Texas, a massive and vibrant state, then Texas will light the way for America.

√ Therefore, I pledge that in 2023 and beyond, I will fight and sacrifice for freedom, as America’s and Texas’ forefathers did, many of whom gave their lives. They pledged their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.”

I will follow their lead in sacrifice as we end 2022. And I will continue their example as I stand beside the Texas Public Policy Foundation to face down the enemies of freedom throughout 2023
