This research and our recommendations recommend FOUR KEY PILLARS of a solution:

  • Strong physical border security—including a wall where appropriate—based on national sovereignty and the rule of law.
  • Close the “asylum loophole” so that courts are not forced to rapidly allow anyone into the country who claims asylum.
  • Counter the Left’s accusation that strong border security is “not compassionate.”
  • Strengthen measures against illegal immigration in every state, not just border states.
