The Honorable John N. Hostettler is the former vice president of federal affairs for States Trust, a Foundation initiative promoting state-based solutions to restore the principle of federalism, holding up states as innovators of effective public policy. Hostettler served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2007 representing Indiana’s Eighth District.

After leaving Congress, Hostettler launched the publishing company Publius House and authored two books. He also founded the Constitution Institute, which held seminars throughout Indiana, educating his fellow Hoosiers on the U.S. Constitution.

An engineer by training, Hostettler graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a B.S. in mechanical engineering.

Hostettler married his high school sweetheart Beth and had four children. They have several grandchildren.
