Sam Pohl joined Texas Public Policy Foundation in May of 2020 and serves as the Director of Engagement.
As a 6th generation Texan, Sam is passionate about the Lone Star State and advancing Liberty. He has a background in political campaigning in Texas and Florida. Most recently Sam was the Comms Director with the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) where he managed media relations and digital efforts for the Party. Prior to joining RPT, he was the Political Director for Don Huffines for Texas Senate and several other campaigns.
Sam received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the U.S. Polocrosse Team which competed in England, South Africa, Australia, Canada and United States. He is an avid angler, outdoorsman, and golfer. He currently lives in Kyle with his wife, two children, and brittany spaniel.
